For your consideration is this beautiful sugar shaker produced during the 1930s. The mark is a five petal flower surrounded by the text "HAND PAINT - MADE IN JAPAN" in red. According to Made In Japan: Ceramics Book II by Carole Bess White, the mark (mark #25) was used by the Seyei Toki Company, LTD of Nagoya, Japan. This business was in operation before WWII and discontinued exporting their products during the 1970s. This lovely piece has geometrically shaped panels. The front and back panels have a beautiful floral motif hand painted upon it. Each panel is outlined in black. The top was gold-gilt, but much of it has been lost over time. A lovely orange and purple luster finish has been added to the piece. It measures 6 inches tall x 2.12 inches wide x 2.12 inches long. The stopper is firmly in place. Absolutely perfect for your boudoir using as a hat pin holder or use as intended for your dining room table.
