[US Military Surplus] Folding Shovel, 1953

This is a U.S. military surplus item from 1953, purchased around 1970. It's a set consisting of a folding shovel and a dedicated canvas cover.

Manufactured in the year the Korean War ended, it retains the atmosphere of the time.

● Manufacturing Year: 1953
(The shovel's metal part is stamped with "US", "AMES", and "1953").

● Material Feel: The handle is made of wood, the paint is olive drab, and the thick canvas cover, etc., are all rugged materials of the time.

● Item Condition
• Shovel Body:
There is light to moderate rust, paint peeling, and scratches, etc., damage associated with actual combat or use.
There are no problems with the folding mechanism (movable parts).

• Canvas Cover:
There are stains, dirt, and discoloration overall due to aging.

• The metal fittings (snap buttons, wire hanger) have rust and paint peeling. There seem to be no problems with their function.

There are no fatal tears or mold.
