This beautiful, antique edition of Stories from The Iliad by H.L.Havell was published by George Harrap in 1909. It is part of the 'Told through the ages' series. The book features sixteen full-page illustration plates in black and white. Illustrations from various sources - please see the 8th photo. Quarter bound in brown leather with embossed green boards. Heavily gilded designs and titles to front and spine. Some rubbing to spine base and cracks etc to spine middle. Top edge gilt, others rough cut. This does show some age related wear, but still in very good condition considering. Internally unmarked and bright.
