Charles Vyse’s sculpture, Darling, is the icon of the launch collection of 1913. Vyse studied under Charles Noke in the 1890s before moving to London where he became a very successful studio potter. This enchanting study of a young child dressed for bed was christened by Queen Mary during her visit to the Royal Doulton factory in April 1913
