A beautiful guilloche enameled necklace and earrings from the renowned Norwegian jeweler John Baalerud. Necklace is 16 inches. Earrings are clip on and are 1 inch by 0.6 inches. Each piece is cast, etched for a ribbed design, enameled, then treated with a patina to give the silver a bronze tone. The work can be quite tedious and the perfection of this style was recognized through the highly collectable pieces created by a handful of Scandinavian artists such as Baalerud. The set is quite rare. Hallmark: 925S JB. John Baalerud (1914-1983) was a silversmith in Oslo, Norway specializing in enameled jewelry from 1935 until the business closed 5 years after his death. These pieces have a timeless beauty and are a rare find as a set.
