The concept of "universal design," which aims to create designs that are accessible to everyone regardless of age or disability, was first proposed in 1985 by American architect Ronald Mace. While various sneakers originally created for athletic purposes can be considered to follow the principles of universal design, Nike's "GO FLYEASE" universal design shoes take this concept to the next level. In May 2023, the "AIR FORCE 1 FLYEASE" was released, incorporating this concept.

At first glance, it appears identical to the regular AF1, but the heel is made of a flexible material, providing flexibility and allowing it to fold inward for hands-free wear. This update makes it easier to put on and take off. Following the first white colorway, the second colorway, "Triple Black," has arrived. The "EASYON" system on the heel allows for hands-free wear, while the upper maintains the same look as the regular "Triple Black." The tongue is made of lightweight, comfortable nylon, with the "FLYEASE" logo placed in the center. This shoe is designed to be accessible to a wider range of people.
