Mid-century Indian decorative brass-clad duck-form box, hand-carved teak with repoussé brass and copper overlay. Originating from Rajasthan c.1960–70s. Used for betel nuts or jewelry. Patinated finish, hinged compartment, folk art craftsmanship.
Identification
• Material: solid hardwood body (possibly teak) with brass and copper sheet overlay, repoussé and engraved.
~11.5” L × 11” H × 7” W.

These decorated zoomorphic boxes were common in Rajasthan and Northern India from the mid-20th century (1950s–1980s).
They were used as betel nut or jewelry boxes,
The decorative brass scale pattern and rosette motifs are typical of Jodhpur and Bikaner craft workshops that combined Mughal metal-overlay techniques with folk carving.
Tool marks, oxidation, and hinge style suggest vintage (c. 1960–1980) manufacture, not colonial-era.
