For sale is a Rare Major Repunched Date Error 1922 Silver Peace Dollar, with a dramatic bold “1922” Fully Repunched Date.
The date, 1922, was repunched RPD by the US Mint at Philadelphia on this Silver Peace Dollar, this Error is the result of the original date being weak or mispositioned and the Mint then having to repunch the coins date multiple times.
This Major Repunched date resulted in all 4 of the numbers in the date, “1922” being repunched, with especially both of the numbers “2” being especially well Repunched, and dramatic, with both of the “2” in in this date looking bold with a full outline of the Repunched “2” next to the original “2”.
