Prior to Flash and the Pan, Harry Vanda and George Young also formed the renowned Australian songwriting and production duo Vanda & Young (AC/DC). They rose to fame as key members of the 1960s rock band the Easybeats, with Vanda on lead guitar and Young on rhythm guitar.
Vanda and George Young (older brother of AC/DC’s Malcolm and Angus Young) joined the Easybeats in the mid-1960s after their families immigrated to Australia. Together, they co-wrote major hits like “Friday on My Mind," which topped charts in Australia and reached the top 10 internationally in 1966-1967.
