Up for sale is an authentic early-Republic of China bronze/white‐metal (please verify) commemorative medal dating to 1929 (Minguo Year 18), issued by the National Government to mark the victory of the Northern Expedition (July 1926–December 1928).
The medal measures approximately 38 mm (≈1.5″) in diameter, shows light surface wear consistent with age (see detailed photos), and retains good detail on the crossed flags, heart motif inscribed “天下为公” (Tianxia Weigong = “The world is for the public”) and the lower banner reading (in Chinese) “北伐成功纪念章/北伐成功退伍纪念章”.
Issued c. 1929 by the National Government for veterans or participants of the Northern Expedition.
Obverse shows two crossed flags: the Blue Sky with White Sun (party emblem) and the Blue Sky White Sun on Red field (national emblem variant).
Central heart shape carrying the inscription “天下为公” (Tianxia Weigong) emphasising democratic/republican ideals.
