Presenting an extremely scarce, Art Deco, three piece statement belt buckle or belt enhancer by Irving Silverman, NY.
The Irving Silverman Company produced jewelry and accessories in the 1920s-30s, and as a collector of his creations, I find them to be unique and of excellent construction.
This distinctive buckle is made of three separate gilt brass sections. All sections are connected by gilt mesh type rope chains.
The design itself features a metal molded distressed type surface in a pleasant shape. In each section are 1/2" diameter grommets inset with faceted crystal rhinestones. The mesh chain passes through all.
Side belt attachments are strong and fit belts up to 1 5/8" wide.
Very good condition ~ on back one can see soldered areas for mesh chain attachments. There are also three tiny rhinestones missing from one grommet - easy fix or wear as-is.
