Antique Victoria Carlsbad, Australia Greek Woman Dancing Cherub And Lyre Cobalt

Rare hard to find item: Victoria Carlsbad, Australia, Greek woman dancing cherub and Lyre, Cobalt, 6 inch plate. Very pretty antique porcelain cabinet plate. Nicely decorated with a classical Allegorical scene of three Greek women dancing with a cherub playing a lyre. Surrounded by a border of dark blue cobalt that fades to white as it gets closer to the edge. The edge has a relief molded scrollwork and gold guilt highlights. There is a band of gold guilt design around the central scene and another band of fancy Art Nouveau style gold guilt scrollwork and floral designs. There is an over glaze decorating mark used by Schmidt and company between 19O4 and 1918. This plate has some ware to the gilding and one usage marked to the central image. It is in otherwise very good condition with no chips or cracks. Measure 6 inch. Note: Plate stand not included. Non smoking pet free home.
