ANTIQUE GOLD TONE PIN MALTESE CROSS CROWNS RED CABOCHON & FAUX DIAMOND

Very old vintage or antique pin referred to in many places as a Maltese Cross. There are four crowns, one on each point of the pin. The pin has a large center blood red cabochon, with four other red cabochons set in crowns surrounding it. There are also tiny clear color stones decorating the piece as well. The appearance is a bit Edwardian-ish, or even Medieval and although I'm not certain how old this is, it seems to be quite old. It's in good condition with only two of the crown prongs that may be missing, although there is no sign that they were broken off?, and some general wear from age. It measures approximately 2" by 2". Impressive look!
