A Sparkling Example of American Brilliant Period Craftsmanship (c. 1890-1915)
This exceptional antique Cut Glass Cruet or Small Ewer is a dazzling piece from the famed American Brilliant Cut Glass (ABCG) era. Its deep, meticulous hand-cutting and superior sparkle confirm its quality.
Approx 7 in, perfect for use as a Cream Pitcher, Syrup Pourer, or Cruet for oil or vinegar.
Premium, complex motifs: a large Hobstar / Starburst cut on the base and a body covered in deep Fan and Swirl/Wedge cuts.
Ornate, Applied Handle (often called a 'swan neck' handle in this style), a sign of quality craftsmanship from the late Victorian/Edwardian period.
Heavy Lead Crystal.
Unsigned, but the quality of the cutting is indicative of top American houses like Libbey, Hawkes, or Dorflinger.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This piece is being sold without a stopper. Due to its size and potential use as a syrup or cream pourer, it may never have had one, or it has been lost over its 100+ year history.
