A lovely circa 1940's gold gilded sterling silver & white enamel Marguerite Daisy brooch. This brooch is marked CM 925 which is Carl Michelson's mark. Carl Michelson was Anton Michelson's son and worked as a silversmith for his father's Copenhagen firm until his death in 1877 when he then took over for his father. This nice example of the "Marguerite" design is 1 1/4" across. It has a few minor areas of enamel loss however the areas affected are stable and do not extend through to the metal base. In good vintage condition.
The Marguerite Daisy design was first developed in 1940 when the future queen of Denmark Margrethe was born.
